Over the next few years, I think technology will only continue to grow in importance and usage in the classroom. It is become more affordable and more dynamic for schools. Every year there will be new inventions that will help students achievement levels that will be implemented by the schools. Teachers need to stay up to date with the changes that will occur. As an educator, you need to utilize any resources that are given to you. If your school brings in some new technology for you, its in your best interest to learn how to properly use and integrate it into your classroom. Teachers need to look into their old lesson plans and creatively add technology into them to help the learners.

Prompt 4 - ETE 100

In an art classroom, technology plays an important role in enhancing the quality of art projects. Before each project, it would be beneficial to research famous artists and their examples to show to the students. These images can also be displayed during workday so students have reference images. Teachers must make sure that students are proficient in using technology, so artist research papers will be used in my classroom. Learning how to properly research and present information will help students in any classroom. Visual aids are also a great way to keep students on task when you do not have time to answer every question.

Technology can be effectively implemented by teachers to help students achieve higher levels achievement through projects and reports. Following the ISTE standards, teachers should use technology to give students opportunities to make projects dynamic. For example, instead of presenting a report in front of class, you can add a powerpoint or a video. Technology is also very important for students research. Access to computers leads to better research for projects, and also gives them more ways to solve problems they may encounter. For students, technology is important because it allows them more options to explore and advance their learning.

Technology has been a constant in classrooms, but sometimes it can be used incorrectly. Technology is helpful as a visual aid. For example, if you are doing a project and you forget the guidelines, you can look at the powerpoint and get back on track. If gives the teacher more time to do meaningful work. Having laptops available in high school to check out for research projects was very beneficial. Technology is used incorrectly when teachers do powerpoint presentations that have far to much information on them. Also, some educators will use movies to fill class time when they are not prepared.

Prompt 1 - ETE 100

Technology has played a different role throughout my education, and has slowly gotten more important to my success in learning. In grade school the most technology was used for was playing videos or a basic overhead. We did have very old Macintosh's that could do paint, and my favorite, Oregon Trail. In school technology became much more important because we were required to type more papers. Some classes started to focus on how to use computers properly. By high school, it was expected that a student could be efficient in computer skills that involved presentations or research papers. College has led to almost a dependance on computers. An entire class can be online, which is very different from when we were young.
